Volunteers and interns printing at the Miami Book Fair in late November 2107. This annual event brings devotees of the printed page together, not just to read… But to print as well. It is our mission to keep this tradition alive.

In January 2018, Extra Virgin Press brought its talented interns to Little Haiti Cultural Center to print with MDCPS teachers and teaching artists from PAMM. This vital neighborhood hub has workshops in silkscreen printing, a gallery, community artists, and visiting artists such as Extra Virgin Press and Thom Wheeler.

Extra Virgin Press was at Little Haiti Cultural Center in May 2018 for the Little Haiti Book Festival. Interns gave printmaking demonstrations with a table top letterpress. Two posters were created and printed on the letterpress for the Little Haiti Book Festival.

Helped set up a Creative Capital professional development webinar/get together for six artists. The event was sponsored by Extra Virgin Press and hosted at Emerson Dorsch Gallery.

Tom demonstrated and helped 70 preteen YMCA campers and 6 staff print on a letterpress at the Anderson Center in Red Wing, MN.

Working in Minneapolis, MN, Tom created two original broadsheets with Louise Erdrich using her original poems and a short selection of her recent novel, “LaRose.” He created two broadsheets, each an edition of 50.

Birchbark Books bought half of each edition.

Tom led a Letterpress workshop Jaffe Center for Book Arts in Boca Raton, Florida for   2 staff and 12 students.

He taught a Pressure Printing workshop to intermediate level letterpress printers.
